As many, after reading substantial amounts of posts on this site I decided to try going to a provider. Having been in Japan for almost a year, I really wanted to try one out. I walked my way to Putit Royal and on my way there a tout from a provider I didn't even look at the name of got my attention but I simply walked as I didn't know the System. As I came towards Darling Harbour the man there also got my attention and even though I knew they were sister shops, I was bent on going to Putit Royal so I declined his offer.

Once in front of Putit Royal entrance, I spoke to the tout in Japanese (I know just enough to get around) and he spoke to another guy inside asking if Kokujin (Black person) is OK. The other guy came out and told me Dame (Not good), I then asked him why (in Japanese) and he brought out Google Translate and showed me the literal phrase "Foreigner is OK but Black person is Impossible". I was super disappointed but kept my cool and they gave me the usual Japanese "sincere" apology and I smiled & acted like it was okay but I was furious (it was my first time being denied anywhere).

I then made my way to the corner and headed towards Cream Lemon (another sister shop). They were far more welcoming and invited me in and as I sat down the guy asked me if I spoke Japanese. Out of humility I said I spoke a little, BIG MISTAKE, as this was my ticket out of the place explaining that I cannot be served right. And as usual the Japanese apology followed.

I went outside and at this point I started to contemplate my decision of not accepting my first two offers and thought about going back to Darling Harbour. I first made my way to Minowa Station but then turned back only to be approached by a tout of a place I stumbled upon and I could feel my insides filling with joy. They were more than happy to let me in but I think I was far more happier than they were.
You can read about the encounter here: https://tokyoadultguide.com/threads/first-time-at-tokyo-yume.20415/

I am pretty sure the only reason I was denied was because of skin colour as I do not have an imposing stature, infact all the people I interacted with were actually taller and more muscular than I will ever be. I also don't smoke or even drink alcohol and I am told I have an innocent face (always hated that though).
I acknowledge it's their business and their right but I question their business model and I am just glad I got served. Also, "Gaijin Friendly" is a very subjective term as it may mean white caucasian and I don't know how Indians or other races are having it.

Always hate to hear this, and props for not freaking out. I think you need a wingman, preferably Japanese. I think it is always going to be tough, but having a [Japanese} wingman would probably further reduce the freakout factor and maybe get you in the door. You might also consider letting the tout take you in, though if you are like me, you like to have some control over it rather than being shepherded into something.

Sorry to hear that, but yes, a lot of places have rules about specific ethnicities (mainly black, Indian, and Middle Eastern).

Good on you for taking it in stride - that's how those doors eventually get opened.

FWIW, Cream Lemon sounds like they just weren't comfortable with your level of Japanese, a lot of shops are similr in that they're gaijin friendly as long as you can communicate in Nihongo.

I'll do that next time. Wingman? Hmmmm, I don't know, I'm more of a lay under the shadow type of guy.

Thanks for the sympathy. I'll try and improve my Japanese, its the only way to fully enjoy Nihon.

Part of your issue could be the stereotype about the size of black men penis's. Unfortunately some people aren't cultured enough to realize that not all stereotypes are 100% true.

That is fucked up, but at least you handled it well. At least you found something so that is good.

They may have not had girls available but it does sound more like that particular guy had a problem with your race, sorry about that.

In case you are African American, always make this very clear. Since there is body to body contact, its logical that they will not take people from countries with higher disease rates to protect their staff. Health is top priority.

Not 100% true but bigger on average and better to not take risks than to be damaged for a few days, from the girl’s perspective.

It's hard for guys to accept, but many providers have a list of types of clients they will not see. I have heard from girls that they do not want to see blacks, indians, chinese, middle eastern men, etc., for one reason or another. Mainly it's because one or a couple of bad experiences for the girls ruin it for everyone else. However, some girl to stereotype.

However, if the shop in question is banning certain races as a policy, that it crossing the line. They could at least make an effort to explain better like "Sorry, none of the girls available now are willing to see a black man. Please come back when so-and-so is taking a shift." or "Sorry, none of our girls will see a black man. We'll do our best to hire one in the future." That would be a little bit easier for a guy to accept.

Anyway, I talked to a girl and she told me how she firmly believes all Japanese men who use soaplands are not right in the head, like they demand BBFS or no showering first and straight to FS. Also, that all Japanese men who go to such places are either dirty, homeless, poor, mental ill, or any combinations of the above.

I couldn't agree more!

Of course I don’t think “all” Japanese men are like that, but now I remember I had a J client who refused to go to the bathroom once:

- Shower?
+ Nope
- Hygiene?
+ Nope
- Touch the boobie with soapie?
+ Nope
- Touch the kitty maybe?
+ Hmm nope
- Well, fine..
+ ..?
- *push client full force into the bathroom*
+ !!!???!!!

Why? Do they feel entitled or something?

Sometimes I ask myself this question too :)
Sometimes as an escort you just bump into the wrong person, who doesn’t respect your boundaries, or who is such a sexually entitled person to the extent that despite your verbal warnings he hurts you physically and all this time he thinks you’re “actually” enjoying it.

I’m sorry that you’ve been denied entry (literally and figuratively) because of your race. I don’t know much about shops, so I’m not sure if this is a decision made by managers or a personal preference of working girls. (I’m assuming being with a girl who isn’t into black guys would be a mood killer for you as well) Either way it’s a complicated and delicate matter, hope you have more luck the next time :)

For sure. I didn't explain well in my post, but I was just trying to make the point that even Japanese guys are stereotyped by girls.
But, there have been studies that show Japanese people do a lot more unprotected casual sex than in other countries.
I have heard a lot of stories from providers to back up that claim, too.

For some Japanese guys, it's a GFE thing... a girl who was really into him wouldn't insist on a shower first.

For some, it's a power thing. Making her lick his unwashed manhood, etc.

For others, it's as simple as having to wash up first makes them feel dirty - it's the same reason that it's difficult to get clinics here to routinely adopt gloves.

For male clients, I have heard providers say that a lot of Japanese men expect or try to get BBFS because it's what they're used to in their private lives.
STD risks are not well known by many people and the popularity of JAV where penetration is pixelated and claimed to be BBFS certainly has an influence.

In private relationships, I have heard girls say men demand no showers before sex or BBFS because girls who are willing to do that are proving their love for their boyfriend/husband. Not that it's my hobby, but a lot of adult text games in Japan focus on making the point that the main male character has a dirty dick and the fantasy girl is still willing to give him a BBBJ. It's really disturbing.

Ahaha this sounds like the wrong side of Porntube
Eww :(
I mean we all know what happens when an uncircumcised penis isn’t cleaned properly.

I just posted a similar comment above, but it is really disturbing how a lot of porn and adult games/manga in Japan have this genre of unwashed genitalia.

This is why I love different perspectives. Couldn't have ever known otherwise.

The imagery I associate with the word sukebe has warped into a more grotesque form as of today..

As a man, I'm willing to bear the burden of this sin for all of my brethren and apologize to any girl who has had to see or experience that. This is why I always shower and wash well at least twice even before a meeting. And, yes, I will shower during the meeting too.
