As many, after reading substantial amounts of posts on this site I decided to try going to a provider. Having been in Japan for almost a year, I really wanted to try one out. I walked my way to Putit Royal and on my way there a tout from a provider I didn't even look at the name of got my attention but I simply walked as I didn't know the System. As I came towards Darling Harbour the man there also got my attention and even though I knew they were sister shops, I was bent on going to Putit Royal so I declined his offer.
Once in front of Putit Royal entrance, I spoke to the tout in Japanese (I know just enough to get around) and he spoke to another guy inside asking if Kokujin (Black person) is OK. The other guy came out and told me Dame (Not good), I then asked him why (in Japanese) and he brought out Google Translate and showed me the literal phrase "Foreigner is OK but Black person is Impossible". I was super disappointed but kept my cool and they gave me the usual Japanese "sincere" apology and I smiled & acted like it was okay but I was furious (it was my first time being denied anywhere).
I then made my way to the corner and headed towards Cream Lemon (another sister shop). They were far more welcoming and invited me in and as I sat down the guy asked me if I spoke Japanese. Out of humility I said I spoke a little, BIG MISTAKE, as this was my ticket out of the place explaining that I cannot be served right. And as usual the Japanese apology followed.
I went outside and at this point I started to contemplate my decision of not accepting my first two offers and thought about going back to Darling Harbour. I first made my way to Minowa Station but then turned back only to be approached by a tout of a place I stumbled upon and I could feel my insides filling with joy. They were more than happy to let me in but I think I was far more happier than they were.

I am pretty sure the only reason I was denied was because of skin colour as I do not have an imposing stature, infact all the people I interacted with were actually taller and more muscular than I will ever be. I also don't smoke or even drink alcohol and I am told I have an innocent face (always hated that though).
I acknowledge it's their business and their right but I question their business model and I am just glad I got served. Also, "Gaijin Friendly" is a very subjective term as it may mean white caucasian and I don't know how Indians or other races are having it.
