Recently, egghead brianiacs in govt laboratories have discovered another new flu virus, but keep in mind that they find new flu viruses all the time. This new one has killed a few hunderd mostly old people each day since they discovered it. Almost all of these sad people have been in their 70s and 80s, lived mostly useless lives, and were ready to die anyway. To summarize: A very small micro fraction of the old people who die everyday are dying from a new straiin of the many new flu viruses we find all the time.

In regions with a few infections that is the case, but as soon as you have regions with thousands of cases like Italy or Wuhan, the rate skyrockets. In the epicenter of Wuhan it was way up (don't recall the exact number), in Italy it's around 6,5% at the moment. That IS a fucking problem. As soon as you have a few thousand people infected and hundreds needing intense care at hospitals, the medical system collapses and drives the rate through the roof.

All countries were able to deal with it in the beginning when there were few cases, but it turns into a giant problem when the case number rises and mortality rates rise because there is not enough beds for artificial respiration etc. Situation in Italy's hospitals is grim at the moment. Therefore the doctors (and WHO) tell us there is no need to use masks for protection. Unless you are carrying the virus, and then you use the mask to protect others.

The little viruses can travel over 12 feet by way of fans, and infect you. It’s also found to present in fecal matter and again by flushing the toilet, the little viruses can fill the air. The Chinese have reported that this aerosolization/airborne effect can last up to 30 minutes. Reputable doctors reported this way back in December. They have continued to say this, and through interviews, field work, and now lab research more information is being validated.
