Going to be traveling to Toyko for the first time and had some questions regarding soaplands. I appreciate any and all help/tips/suggestions etc. The first thing I've read is that it seems being a foreigner means less options if service at all.

Main question though is how do you contact these establishments? I don't have international calling on my cell, but will be staying at a hotel. Does wifi calling work, or just use the hotel landline? And since I don't speak japanese, how well does that work.

Other option is obviously just go and visit them in person. Then you get a roll of the dice in terms of choice versus setting up an appointment with someone you liked the look of.

If you can afford a 60k soapland visit I’d strongly suggest turning international calling on or getting a prepaid phone. It’s like a $50 expense and no idea what you’d do here without it tbh.

You can always go to the shop and make a reservation for later/another day but you need to call the shop on the day to confirm, so again a phone is very useful. Using hotel phone seems like an expensive and convoluted idea.

As for prices, anyone in this thread will be at the 90k mark, check the other soapland resource threads for lower prices, the first post lists establishments and average prices.

Calling soapland establishments in English sounds dicey. I mean yeah you might get tenchos able to reply in broken English but otherwise they will bombard you in Japanese or simply hang up.
