Are we long-time residents in Japan shooting ourselves in the foot by posting reviews here?

Do we want more foreign punters at our favourite shops?

If said shop become popular with foreigners said shop will eventually become less popular with locals.

Just speculating here but still.

Any opinions on this?

We've been operating this site for the past 13 years and the whole point was to share information and tips for which shops are available to foreigners.
I think there is good and bad and I've gotten feedback from shops that get business from TAG that appreciate the cash infusion because of a review written here.
There has also been negatives, so it's taking the good with the bad. In the past years, we've seen a lot more shops tolerate foreigners... so something is working correctly.

All the SLs I reviewed I mentioned to either provider or tencho that I might review them on an English speaking forum and they we're all fine with it.

The only provider I haven't reviewed I liked too much to be able to write an honest review about, sex was not that good actually.

Thanks. Things are not perfect here and I don't think that would ever be possible. Gaining new members that can actually join the flow, is quite challenging.
I think a lot of the challenge lies with western ideals and how the subject of our our site is sooooo 'taboo'. (I used to think this way too, but I had an open mind and actually took time to understand how it all works...)

Mixed feelings. Majority of foreigners have no idea how things work here. They have no understanding of respect and mistake it for passiveness which we all know it is not. The ones that make me want to cringe are those who want to go with someone or worse yet, with a group. You just don't do that sort of thing here as it really scares tencho because they have no idea how to deal with it. Many others come in with a sense of entitlement because they are paying and they think they are owed something extra in return.

This is probably the largest issue. Even before covid, people just assume dumping more cash = better results.

I'm pretty confident that the frequency of non-TAG related incidents are far more than those that are TAG related (i.e. they got info from here...)
We'll see how it plays out when tourism resumes to normal levels...

Agreed. Although, Japanese men, usually coworkers, sometimes go in pairs to some in-call places... (Although, I work with mostly Japanese only, It's never been offered to me.. lol)

This happened to me at my last job after a work party. The guys ended up in Kabukicho looking at delivery health shops. They offered to pay for me, I pretended I'd never heard of delivery health and said it wasn't for me, lol. I was too worried the cute girl on our team would find out😂

I haven't written a review in several weeks.
I was pumping out 4-6 new reviews per month since November last year. Just take a guess why I've stopped.

I called one shop and the representative called me back a few minutes later to see if I understood fuzoku rules. The girl was so damn nervous when she we met she got a cup of water and I lightly massage her shoulders.
She ended up being an amazing session and likes the foreign pee pee now. I plan to book her again several times as she is literally a goddess.

As much as I love TAG and am eager to share, places like this above are still relatively new and sensitive to gaijin, and I want them to have absolutely perfect interactions until I am certain/satisfied; and with the borders opening I have to wonder if I will ever share at all...

I am yet to encounter a bad session but the worst of the good was actually from a great review here, not bad at all though. Either my expectations are low or im on a newbie lucky streak, could be my looks though, I shouldnt be paying for sex.

I agree with this 100%. We are all a bunch of filthy pervs here but the thing that I like is that (most) people here are sophisticated pervs. No seriously I mean that. There's another forum for single men I have browsed in the past that focuses mainly on South-East Asia and man, those guys have some serious problems. Not a single brain cell between them.

I say share the love with reviews when it comes to places that you know accept gaijin regardless because most people who actually follow up on them and go try out some place will still be at least moderately respectful. I think it's only when gaijin group up that things get bad, we tend to forget where we are sometimes.

I was thinking about this the other day when someone pointed out a bunch of negative reviews. Maybe I will set up a kickstarter for me to go and do a follow-up review of all of the most negatively reviewed girls on here to provide a counterpoint. We can call it Tit-ration.

Edit to add: I have to say though, most of the girls that I want to marry have been endorsed by others on here. Especially after we have banged them together. MAYBE I am just a good judge of character. (Love you Frenchy.)

I used to go with Japanese co-workers many years ago when we were all single to pink salons but we were pretty close and trusting. Even to this day we still meet occasionally but we all moved on from the pinksalo days. LOL. Some can afford high end soaps now and tell nice stories about it. Marry? Damn. Hasn’t figured out that marriage is the quickest path to celibacy? Almost all of my Japanese friends and colleagues with kids say they like their wife and all, they just don’t think much of sex with them. Hello all!
Although relatively new with TAG membership, I have been finding articles and information here for close to a decade.

The question raised is valid however it is also a bit skewed. I travel to Japan 1-3 times a year, I study nihongo the best I can. My partner is Japanese.

That said we rely on the Neuances of the stories and hope the are 30% accurate.

WHY- we want to be TOTALLY RESPECTFUL to any lady/provider/couple we way meet.

We have been members at clubs and turned away from others. We saw restrictions or screening get tighter as the Olympics approach.

Maybe when posting reviews along with rating and if you are getting the providers permission a note as to weather they are gaijin friendly, foreigner friendly or even understanding.

Those that act disrespectfully on purpose or out of ignorance really hurt things for all however the more people are educated the more the world opens up for all as good behavior is k own and can be practiced.

So as one of the ahole you see as fucking everything up, here is what I will say. I get it after reading some recent post, ugh. Even I don't understand all the nuances but still roll my eyes at some of recent post/questions here, from what I assume is people like me. I will say that without anything to reference most of us tourists will do more damage without this resource vs with just blind guessing, at least here we can get feedback to our questions vs just seeing where google lands us with no frame of reference.
So I guess shrug if you want to keep your favorite lady/place private during this period, to be honest I am guessing I would have zero chance, but when do you think you would start reviewing again? 2023? 2024?
Anyway I get it, I feel like this post has come off more rude then intended but even if you all don't want to provide reviews during this early period, advice is always appreciate to ensure we are following the social rules for japan and this hobby, thanks again
