What makes you a great client?

None of my hairdressers/barbers or dentists have become my friends. They don't call or email, or send me Xmas cards or buy me birthday presents, or have drunk sex with me

I just realised my dentist does do all of that. Except the drunk sex part even though I have seen him naked numerous times. Does it count that every time I see his wife I hit on her?

"Gold digging" occurs within the scope of a personal "relationship". Your not in a personal relationship with your doctor, dentist, shoe shiner, real estate agent or escort. There professional service providers. You hire them to perform a service. They perform the service, and you pay them the agreed fee. As soon as they have finished servicing you, they deal with the next client.
Maybe I’m one of exceptions. I have been happily dating my hairdresser for two years. We broke up two weeks ago. Now I lost both my girlfriend and my hairdresser in once. :(

And no you know, why it's common sense to not date your hairdresser. Take a look in the mirror and see what trouble this got you into;)

P.S. where did you say you went for your haircut:rolleyes:

It's funny, I was just at the dentist this morning, and was pondering this very topic while getting my teeth cleaned.
It's kind of a physical / personal experience, with all the scraping with sharp tools, getting my teeth brushed/ flossed like a child ... plus only being able to see her cute eyes (due to the mask) made it all the more exciting.
I had a little fantasy going like what if she does escorting on the side ... won't it be awesome if I could find that out somehow ...

I think I have told it here before but I used to go to a dentist where the whole staff, all nine of them, were very good looking women in their 20's and 30's. I swear if I didn't stop I would have developed a serious fetish for latex gloves really soon.

Add to all that you were under the strong effects of lidocaine ... you did well to stop.

Masochism in a relationship is when one party of the relationship enjoys receiving pain.

Relationship masochism is when the relationship you are in causes you pain. It was mostly a play on words, but if you read @Frenchy posts, they tell a tale of being less than ideal for him (not all of course) :) Again, this is based on comments from @Frenchy. Does this clear it up for you @Ivanhoe

Call me darkly pessimistic about human nature but I think there is a sadist and a masochist (at varying degrees of course, and sometimes they may switch roles) in all human relationships. Even parent/kid, boss/employee...

And in a way ( unless there is a SM play specifically requested, and even that, its just a play that the client wants) you go to an escort to temporarily live the fantasy of NOT being a masochist , for once. Of having someone doing what you want, making you feel good, saying nice things, giving the pleasure and human contact you need... And if the lady is good , you get that. But there is a price to pay and not just a monetary one: the risk for some overly romantic types of confusing reality and fiction (or badly wanting to confuse them) which is probably what Ivanhoe is at now.
