I'm waiting for all those protesters to start testing positive for coronavirus and for everything to collapse into an epic shitstorm. I know it's starting to happen based on some scattered news reports I've seen but I think the media is trying to keep it quiet so they don't spoil BLM's thunder

1) Make people think you care about them.

2) Make people think they need you to make their lives better.

If you can truly master that, sky's the limit. And if you can surround yourself with a team of trusted, talented political operators (also known as "soulless pieces of shit"), you could very well start planning your decor for the Oval Office. I tell you, I'll have an office in the West Wing sooner or later.

The media and democratic leaders will continue to rile up protesters and incite riots and violence because that's the only way they have a chance of beating Trump. And if virus numbers spike in America, that's even better. Just another thing they can blame on Trump.

It's truly pathetic that panicked Americans refuse to see how they're being played by politicians. Weddings? Illegal. Graduation parties? Illegal. Funerals for COVID deaths? Illegal. Gyms? Illegal. Pubs? Illegal. Having a nice, normal family gathering? Illegal. But if 10,000 jackasses want to storm the streets in packed herds with no masks, screaming and hollering and throwing rocks and bricks and burning down businesses and restaurants? Oh, that's cool and constitutional and MSNBC/CNN can't say enough nice things about these assholes. These protesters need to be doused in sterilization agents so they can't pollute the country with another generation of fucking morons.

I know it’s selfish but I’m kind of hoping this situation continues a bit because I’m enjoying the WFH so much.

Fox said it was also cool and constitutional to parade with guns in a state capitol and protest the lockdowns, insulting policemen and nurses etc ... so well... whatever is OK on one side is a crime on the other side I guess

Laura Ingraham is an obnoxious twat, nothing more than Ann Coulter without an Adam's Apple, but quoting that jagoff Trevor Noah as some sort of objective observer is like quoting Hilter on human rights. Those idiot, inbred hillbillies that came out in Michigan to protest the lockdowns were just about as intelligent as the BLM morons burning down their own neighborhoods. But at least in my current city, when the fringe right-wing lunatics came out to piss and whine and protest and violate distancing laws--most of them transplants that nobody wants around here, anyway--the police here did the right thing: they arrested those fucking idiots and made an example of them.

Everyone knows I'm an alcoholic libertarian extremist and no fan of government overreach, or particularly how the lockdowns have destroyed the economy (because that may lead us to electing a demented imbecile in November) but I'm also willing to be pragmatic during a crisis. The data proves that social distancing is effective, and I don't think it's too much to ask to try to keep our distance from strangers if possible until we have a vaccine. Of course, that could just be me being selfish and wanting to drop my trousers in Bangkok this November.

True, and what we're finding here stateside as the numbers keep spiking in the southwest and west is that the average age of new infections has dropped significantly to about 35. What's also dropping is the hospitalization and mortality rate. What that basically means is that testings have gone way up, old folks are being way more careful and staying home and the younger idiots enjoying this newfound freedom are going out, getting infected, getting tested, then waiting the three or four weeks to get over it and going about on their merry way.

I'm not happy at all about these idiot fucking protests or hordes of jackasses going out to party up now that bars and restaurants are open, but if we can manage to exercise some level of restraint and judgment, adhere to safety guidelines and keep the ICUs and ventilators from being jammed up by infecting the elderly, we just might make it safely to whenever it is that the vaccine arrives without killing off another hundred thousand people. If not, we're headed for a particularly nasty fall when the seasonal flu arrives back in town.

I have also recently read an article that there have been some early indicators identified, who will get the sever version of covid, do you can start the treatment earlier. Obviously all of this still needs to get verified, double checked etc., but obviously the routines in treating patients improve to.

Out of civic duty I did....but I can't see this app being very effective.

Took a weekend trip to the new Intercontinental in Yokohama this weekend after being at home for 100 days, fuck this. The place was near empty and really perfect. No people = my ideal. They may have had 8 people at most, at any time in the club lounge. Our entire floor was vacant except for 1 corner room. I think their occupancy had to be under 5% despite them telling me under 30%. They didn't realize I've dealt with that industry before and know that's a lie. Everyone was on their toes ready to show their best. A noticeable difference between other experiences at similar hotels in Japan in the past.. Just waiting now for Vietnam to open up that pussy.

The final implementation is managed by the government (and to be clear, I am concerned about incompetency, not conspiracies...), and it was still rolled out in a hurry with inadequate controls. No thanks.
